~ Kurita’s Rising Sun Shogunate ~
A small precursor: Jiyu’s original name is Freebrth, like free-born, or born naturally, but to Jiyu, it means to BE free. The name was an insult hurled by captors, the genetically superior “cloned” pilots of the distant clan worlds. In time, it would turn into Jiyu, which means “to be free” in the native tongue of Tera’s ancient samurai ancestors, The following is Jiyu’s early story, how the shogunate got it’s theme, what started the path of conquest, and later, to spread the light of the Sun and heal the realms once culled.
Jiyu started life as a fearsome Samurai-MechWarrior of the inner sphere’s Kurita Empire. Learning of imminent attack, Jiyu was sent on deep recognizance. Years later, and once a captor of the distant clans, Jiyu (as Freebrth) would become Khan of clan Dragon Wind, and was known for such fearsome savagery that oppositional clans would kneel to accept defeat rather than lose their worlds to Jiyu’s conquests. In game terms, they’d take the loss rather than risk losing mechs to salvage and repair or refitting of mechs post battle with clan Dragon Wind, and the tiny MechWarrior Jiyu. Years of battle would prove Jiyu worthy, and defeating a worthy opponent to become Khan, the arts of war would become vital roles in the years to follow… as predicted ….
To fill in the gaps:
– It was the 80’s and I played MechWarrior on table-top with friends when we weren’t playing D&D with adults. From my love of all things Japanese at a very young age, i found myself drawn to the Kurita group in the game, essentially space samurai in huge mech-robots heh. It would be late `90’s when computers would give us a taste of OG-online gaming life, and a small developer made an app that connected our dialup mech-net game and plug into the chat mod – make a room, invite friends and foes, make challenges & launch a 4v4 mech battle, all over 56.6k dial-up!! Pzzz-bong bong-bee-bee- yeaaaa that thing haha…. it was a golden era.. MW-2 was the clans game before they invaded the inner sphere- it was super fun .. Then life .. 2-kids a marriage that later failed when I joined the army, and was lucky to have time to play a little OG-warcraft / starcraft and Diablo i / ii when home – it was still golden era gaming. Sooo – some of my funny “time references” coincide with that stuff- like Jiyu’s absence or disappearances etc – army – life – jobs – pre retirement… you get it. Anwhoo – It was now 200o’s I had been re-married in Tokyo, bought a house – and Jiyu returns!! Lets pick up at say 2013 Piranha Games releases MWO, i joined the 9th sword early in the game, around beta as i’m a founder- Take in mind by now, the RSS was regaled guild in WoW… alas, to the story! hahaa:
Having returned home to the Kurita Empire and the Draconis Combine, Jiyu would battle the other houses for control of Terra and to ensure resources flow in to the Empire. Forging a respectable position in the 9th Sword of the Dragon, Jiyu would later strike out to search mysterious and hidden realms rumored to hold treasure and majestic lands beyond imagination … It was prior to the clans return that Jiyu would land in Azeroth, and hearing murmurings of a Burning Crusade would swear fealty to the lands, to protect them and give safe harbor those affected by the Legion. .. and then…
– From the deepest reaches of space, the clans would return, and from the heart of Draconis Combine’s Kurita Empire, the Shogunate of the Sun did Rise – and thus, We are the Rising Sun Shogunate. Jiyu’s conquest has now expanded the Empire in to Azeroth, Eorzea, and the mysterious Unity-verse called vrchat. – The Conquest continues, and even as a healer, a white mage and paladin, Jiyu will always have the heart of a MechWarrior – and will always be Free.
